Carlos Bentos is the world's only known championship-winning solo marlin fisherman. Fishing alone, he has won more than thirty competitions, including the annual Ocean City White Marlin Open with an unparalleled Super Grand Slam performance. A native Uruguayan, Carlos opened and successfully ran five renowned restaurants in Washington, DC, for twenty-five years. He is a longtime commentator and writer for Voice of America and has been profiled in publications including the Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, The Baltimore Sun, Marlin and Soundings. He lives in Ocean City, Maryland, where he's writing a sequel to A Crew of One.
